Glamping/Camp Program

During many Santa Visits at the MDA summer camps it was noted how much fun the KIDS were having. At this time Santa’s Camp and Wonderland is starting the process to build a place where medically fragile and disabled children and adults can spend a day just having fun. The Glamping/Camp Program will be started in 2024. The glamping tents which accommodate 4 to 10 people and eventually Tiny Houses will be installed to house families with a disabled child or adult to just have fun at no cost or a free will donation. Additionally, families or individuals will be able to rent the glamping tents to help offset the costs associated with families that have a disabled child or adult. The tents will also be available for church groups or other groups that come to volunteer at Santa’s Camp and Wonderland to help at camps or in the garden program. In the first year one to three glamping tents will be installed with platforms to start the program. In the second year, two units will be installed along with additional water lines and electrical service. The third year will see three units installed. Space is available to add an additional three units in the future. As the glamping and other programs grow, handicap restrooms, shower house and laundry facilities will be needed to accommodate more families. Many costs are associated with the startup of the Glamping/Camp Program including the purchase of tents, tent platforms, craft and art supplies, outdoor equipment, water toys and games for hydrant parties. Sponsorships are available for tents and platforms along with covering the costs of operating the Glamping/Camp Program. A budget of $5,000.00 for each glamping tent location has been established. For each $500.00 or more received, permanent recognition will be on display in the tent and in publications of Santa’s Camp and Wonderland.
